Leela (formerly Ellen) - adopted October 2012

Leela (formerly Ellen) - adopted October 2012

Good morning and happy new year!

I adopted a kitten of yours in October of 2012 and never got around to sending photos of her. Her name was Ellen (we changed it to Leela, for the sake of simplicity for our then 18 month old) and I attached a photo of her that was on your website.

She turned out to be a big lovable hairball! She gets along great with our daughter (and you know how children can sometimes be rough with cats!) and is super gentle and friendly even with strangers!

Anyhow just thought I'd share a couple pictures of her, taken this morning. We couldn't be happier!

Thanks so much for your hard work and dedication!

Hi Jody,

Just couldn’t resist snapping a picture of the love birds as they snuggled for their afternoon nap.

Harvey (formerly Echo) - adopted Dec. 2013

Harvey (formerly Echo)

Hi There!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I promised to send an update about Echo (now renamed Harvey)! He's doing
really well at home, he was a bit shy at first but now his personality is really coming through!

We had a huge snowfall this weekend and he has been going crazy playing in the snow! He still wiggles like a bulldog when he walks and it is absolutely
the funniest thing ever! He has become a favourite in the neighbourhood, I have neighbours coming out at 7am stopping me and asking me to pet the dog or play with him lol!

Here are some pics from home!

See you on the 30th and have a very Merry Christmas!
Christine

Atlas (adopted Dec. 8, 2013)

Hello,

I just wanted to keep everybody at Upper Credit updated on our new member to our family…Atlas. We just adore him!!!  We are soooo very happy with him.
His transition yesterday went very smoothly. He was playing with our girls in 5 minutes. Atlas didn't even blink an eye at our chocolate lab Oliver. He followed Oliver all over the house and they quickly became buddies.

Last night Atlas slept with us in our bed but then carried on in the middle of the night to go and sleep with our 2 girls. He does not like to be without us. We went outside last night into the hot tub and Atlas sat at the window and watched us from the window.

He is very, very happy with us. We are so very grateful that we adopted him. He is more than a perfect match to our family.

We hope his friends get adopted soon. We will continue to keep you updated.
We are off to Christmas shop for him tonight.

Thank you again for all you do and we will continue to donate to the Humane Society.

Kind Regards,

Val & The Wright Family

Tiger (adopted Sept. 24, 2013)

Hi Jody,

Just a quick follow up on our little guy.

He adapted to the family very fast. Within hours he was coming out and checking out what's around him. The very same night he was already coming out to see us.

Tiger is so super special there are no words to describe him. I have never met a cat like him in my life. He sleeps on his back, lets me trim his nails while he is asleep!!! Loves cuddling, comes when he's called and just like any other kitten loves to play.

This little guy stole our hearts faster than we could say Tiger :)

Once again thank you for all your help. Hats off to all people like you who are helping and finding new homes for all unwanted animals.

Attached are two pics, hope you'll enjoy them.

Loki (2003-2013)

Loki
(2003-2013)

It is with great sadness that we share with you Loki’s passing on Nov 2. Loki was 10 years old and a wonderful big brother to Henry. Loki was a very special dog who expressed his happiness through his “talking” and excited, wagging tail. He was healthy and happy right up until Friday night and suddenly took ill on Saturday. After going to the vet, and then the emergency clinic, it was discovered via a cloudy X-ray that Loki either had fungal pneumonia or cancer.  He was in rough shape. The vet said he presented as a very stoic dog. The only sign we had that he was ill was on the previous Monday he developed a cough.
His past owner should know that he lived a very full and happy life. He was a wonderful dog and is dearly missed.

Our very best to the Upper Credit staff and volunteers for taking in Tyr, Loki and Henry and letting them join our family. The work you do is invaluable.
Thank you,
Sam
