Groot (now known as Worf) - adopted May 17, 2015
Hello,
Just wanted to give you an update on Groot. His first week in his new home has gone very well. He was nervous at first and wanted lots of cuddles and reassurance (see the picture attached of him with my husband, napping on the couch on his first day home). He's much more relaxed and independent now, and has been having supervised time together with our other cat. They are getting along well - some smacking and chasing, but no hissing or fighting.
We've changed his name to Worf, and are enjoying seeing his personality come out as he gets more comfortable. He's very chatty, and very curious. He's a real mooch for people food, and likes to stick his head in your glass to see what you're drinking. He's also a seat stealer - if you get out of your chair, he'll take it! The other photo was taken seconds after I got up to answer the phone.
Thanks for taking care of him until we could find him and bring him home. We love him very much.

Tyson (adopted March 9, 2014)
Hello,
I adopted a large, orange tabby male named Tyson on March 2014. He had some digestive problems and was not wanting to be touched when I first met him in the shelter. He had been there for a long while. At first I passed him up and then I thought he might flourish with more room to roam and a quieter environment.
At first in his new home he was shy and fearful, hiding
under a chair. In stages he became comfortable. His digestive
problems resolved with the same food my gray tabby eats.
This handsome gentle guy is super affectionate and
meows for lap time and petting. I am gratified to see him finally cuddling up
to visiting family members and friends! He tolerates my feisty female cat and
sometimes playfully chases her or swats at her when she becomes too annoying.
He loves to watch birds and squirrels outside and play with a
feather whip. I renamed him Mr Orange. He is much loved and
happy!

Hadley (adopted March 6, 2015) and Blondeen (adopted Feb. 20, 2015)
Just to let you know that Hadley and
Blondeen are getting along very well, Blondeen (Hyde) as we call him, is still a little bit scared still but he is
coming around, hopefully soon he will jump up on our laps. Hadley is
doing great and Blondeen's injury has healed up completely. Thanks for the cats and keep up the good work.

Bear
I marvel every day at the happiness Bear has brought to our home after the loss of our beautiful Coco last September. In 5 short months he has become an integral part of our pack and he is much loved.
Knowing that he was so scared when he arrived at UCHS and the wonderful care he
received to start him on the right path, helped us to help him become the happy
go lucky, well adjusted, amazing dog he is now! He is an absolute treasure and
we have no idea how we survived without him!
